PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi Announces The Winner of Sidrap Wind Farm Entrance Gate Design Competition
SIDENRENG RAPPANG, MARCH 1, 2021 — The design competition for The Sidrap Wind Farm entrance gate concept was held between January 25 and February 8, 2021, with participation from students of 9 elementary schools around Sidrap Wind Farm location, including Lawawoi Village, Lainungan Village, and Mattirotasi Village.
The entrant's design submissions have been submitted to the competition committee and assessed by the jury from PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi Management. Of the 9 elementary schools, each school represented by 10 participants/students from grades 4–6. The winners of the competition have been announced on 26th February 2021.
The Jury decided that Hilwa Zakiyah from SDN 3 Lawawoi is the winner of The Sidrap Wind Farm entrance gate design competition, having well understood the design needs and applied the appropriate design innovation; followed by Weni Aulia Auri from SDN 2 Lainungan as the first runner-up and Muh. Putra Sudiro from SDN 4 Lawawoi became the second runner-up. Each winner will receive a mountain bike (and helmet) and an exclusive tour at Sidrap Wind Farm location which will be carried out after the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided.
The chosen design / s will become the basis of PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi’s engineering design which is proposed to be converted to an actual entrance feature in Q2 2021.
Besides the 3 winners, there are 10 consolation prizes in this competition which are given by the committee to 10 participants whose designs are considered to have offered elements of design innovation and followed the design brief.
The prize presentation was carried out on 26th February 2021 in the Education and Culture Agency of Sidenreng Rappang Regency office with a strict Covid-19 Health Protocol.
Bapak Pribadhi Satriawan, the Operation Manager of The Sidrap Wind Farm hopes by using the winning design as a basis for the PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi engineering design for the entrance gate renovation will increase a strong sense of belonging of The Sidrap Wind Farm, so that the people of Sidenreng Rappang Regency will participate in taking care and promoting the wind farm as a tourism location which also delivers significant amounts of renewable energy into the South Sulawesi PLN Grid system.
